Tündérkert

As the costume designer of the Tündérkert released in 2023, I was responsible for creating the complete costume concept for the production. In addition to the design process, I also coordinated the realization of the costumes, working closely with my team as well as with tailoring workshops and various craft ateliers.One of the particular challenges of the project was that relatively few visual sources have survived from 17th-century Hungary and Transylvania. While Western European kingdoms—such as Spain, England or France—are rich in paintings and material artifacts from the period, the turbulent course of Hungarian history has left far fewer visual records. As a result, alongside historical research, the creative imagination also played an important role in the costume design process, in order to evoke the atmosphere of the era in a way that is both historically grounded and cinematically compelling.
