Liliom

Perhaps Ferenc Molnár’s most famous and successful play, Liliom tells the touching, sentimental story of a warm-hearted carousel barker and a maid hopelessly in love with him, set among the pure-hearted, vividly human characters of the City Park (Liget).

This production, staged at the Vörös Sándor Theatre, was one of my very first costume designs after graduating from university. The performance was directed by Péter Valló, with whom I later went on to create several further productions as a costume designer.
